Economical Process Sterilization Indicator:
- Place a strip inside every pouch, pack or cassette prior to steam sterilization.
- Indicators turn color from white to black in steam process or white to brown in chemical vapor process.
- Visible assurance that package or load was exposed to the sterilization process.
All Pouches and Packs Should Include
Internal and External Chemical Indicators:
- Early indicator of possible sterilizer malfunction or operator error.
- Provides feedback on sterilization functions between weekly biological monitoring (spore tests).
Meets CDC Guidelines for an Internal Chemical Indicator:
- “Internal chemical indicators should be used inside each package to ensure the sterilizing agent has penetrated the packaging material.”
